Congrats again Alex! Looking forward to having you on board as a trainer.
For you guys who attended the running/endurance cert, I believe the guy fourth from the right in the front row was an attendee wasn't he?

Congrats Alex. Start thinking about warmup regimens.
Bryce, you are correct, he is a former wrestler from Univ of Mich. I think his name was Joe.

Last night I joined the pr madness with the Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 wod. Weights were as follows
335-405-425-445-485-515(pr!)-???
I was in a rush and couldn't get to the 7th rep but 515 was all i had trust me. That's 15# over my previous pr of 500# back on 9/20/08. This stuff keeps working. This one workout a day stuff is pretty relaxing, gotta try it more often haha. Thanks to everyone for motivating me to get a pr like you guys. No back soreness either!

Bryce you're right that guy at the cert was named Joe. Now that I've been annointed with the Level 1 I would like to go by either "The Dragon" or Rx+ (rex-plus). Let the voting begin. joking of course (or am i?) but thanks for the congrats. i look forward to the challenge of learning to help others get better and achieve their goals

Ha Alex - Rex-Plus it is!! Awesome.

Great job Alex (I mean Dragon)! Or should I say "Grasshopper"?! (if you remember the series Kung Fu with Keith Carradine? - probably before your time young grasshopper). Congrats on your Level 1!!

Hey Tim,
Look back to our May 7, 2007 posts on this WOD. I only did 3 rounds with jumping pullups and 10# thrusters! Too funny and that was my first real WOD at CrossFit (I started on May 6 with the baseline).Rudy was so kind to take it easy on me at the very beginning.
I remembering thinking that was sooo hard and I was extremely sore the next day. Look how far we have come in six months! Great job honey!

Ok, I'll say it, thanks for the link Rudy. Sportmart only carries so many different brands so that was very helpful.

So Rudy - by posting that link you're telling us you don't want it to look like CrossFit National Geographic in the box?
Posted by: Erin | November 12, 2008 at 12:10 PM
I'm about 90% of the time shirtless so, the only step I can go closer to National Geographic is a loincloth.

One happy moment in an otherwise disappointing (and painful) day as a result of my hurt back from DLs this morning:
I just got an email from the chairman of the Illinois Chapter of North American Strongman Inc., and I'm the 2008 Illinois Strong(wo)man of the year. Woo!
Posted by: Emily | November 12, 2008 at 01:11 PM
Congratulations Emily!!

Surely you are not encouraging us to bare our mid drifts once we invest in the heavy armour bras they are recommending in the link? We are all pretty cut ya know!
OK CrossFit Chicago gals, time to invest in some new "chest vests" sporting the CrossFit Chicago logo and market them. Could be a money maker.
Posted by: Eileen C. R. | November 12, 2008 at 02:03 PM
Way to go Emily!! We will now call you "NASI" (no not nasty) for North American Strong(wo)man!!
Posted by: Eileen C. R. | November 12, 2008 at 02:06 PM
Thanks Eileen and Erin!
If we got some Crossfit Chicago emblazoned sports bras I would totally buy several. I just wish there was some applicable Crossfit saying we could put on them.
Maybe, "Yep, these are made of iron, too."

Yes Emily you are my (s)hero! I'll need your autograph asap as I want to be just like you. is there a bronze statue or medallion that comes with the title or maybe a framed certificate or box of wheat bran flakes with your pic on it? and Eileen I know of the original Kung Fu series with Mr. Carradine in it but have more exposure to the newer one that came out with david carradine and his son in the 90s Kung fu: the legend continues. Great show and i miss it very much.
