Don't know if any of you got the chance to watch the video on HQ today http://operationphoenix.myshopify.com/, but I was planning on ordering a shirt to support the cause. I figure it's the least we can do to help support the cause. Thought I'd check in with the rest of the crew to see if you were interested, and we can order them together to save some money on shipping. They're pretty solid shirts too.

Good cause, bad a$$ shirts.

...oh and did someone say bowling... no?... am I the only bowling dork?

Day 1 was very informative and VERY squat intensive. I was a little subconscious about my knee holding up as it was still a little swollen but i bought a brace and it did just fine. Boz was the head trainer and we had a few peeps from Crossfit Boston, a guy from Michigan, and the man who shoots a lot of the videos for the main site as trainers as well. The trainers lunch time wod was

10 rounds for time of

10 reps of 135#/95# power snatch
15 wall balls (20#/14#)

Thats a combo of Karen and Isabel and it didn't look too fun. Only Boz and a female trainer did it so I didn't know what time they got. Our wod was:

5 rounds for time of:

15 Deadlift (135#/95#)
10 Burpees

Time - 4:29

I had the best time by :27 and paid the price as the chest burn was pretty intense for a good 20+ mins afterwards but all in good fun of course. Thank goodness my knee recooperated JUST in time or I wouldn't be able to walk after all that intense squat work. So I got this wall post on facebook from Emily and it sounds like you guys got TOASTED at the social. I must hear stories. We didn't have the set up for Fran unfortunately so I wasn't able to see if I could achieve the 2:30 time I was goin for but ah well. CF Chicago was well represented and I look to do more of the same tomorrow.

Nice work Alex. The WOD sounds like it would be a breeze for you. Go back and kill it again tomorrow. Did they have to make an example out of you on any of the instruction portion?

A few things I learned tonight: BentoBox likes bowling, is that one ball or two; Chad is bald, or was that really just for a screen-play (jk); Marisco and Mandy smile and giggle a lot; Emily is cool, even if she can't punch; and yes, Erin is just as funny as you think she is (where was Lisa???). Good times everyone. My belly hurts so I'm going to take a few Tums and go to bed.

Bowling... I'm working on the details... I'll consult with Rudy... who by the way, is quiet after a few beers.

How about that Chad burpee??? Nice arse....

does anyone know if the "paleo" diet is supposed to be kinda like the zone or better?

bryce i wasn't used as an example during the instruction portion thankfully. only for the air squat but we were in a smaller group at that point so i was cool with that. on to day 2. and yes the next event needs to be bowling. i'll for sure be there for that one

Hey Bryce, those are really awesome shirts! and what a great cause! I'm sure we are in. Semper FI!!

I agree with Liz's learnings, and I learned Liz really has a husband, and well, Rudy was surprisingly quiet, dont expect that at bowling!!

We missed those that couldnt make it and cant wait to see you on the next one! Yay superburpees!
